Family As Art

First moments. Forever.

LIFE MOVES SO FAST!

How often do you look at your children and wonder where the time went? When did that gummy smile get filled with pearly white teeth? When did those podgy little toddler legs get strong enough to run and jump? And when did your tiny baby get almost too big to fit in your lap (almost, but never quite too big!)

At Family As Art I capture those moments in your life that should never be forgotten; creating precious, timeless works of art featuring your family. Never was there a better moment to stop the hands of time, reflect and remember the simple love that was today.

Your product is fantastic. And will be cherished for more than a lifetime!

My Vision

Brighter than the stars and as unique as every single one x

Your baby is so very fresh and new and pure.

Life has just begun and the canvas is flawless, the possibilities are endless.

My job, my passion is capturing this moment. This very instant where every could be.

The style in which I photograph newborns is organic and authentic. I illustrate through my portraits the originality of each new life. Pure, unembellished and unique.

These timeless works of Family Art are created as heirlooms, both for you as parents, to recapture forever the extraordinary gift of live that you have been entrusted with and for your child and future generations to come to behold and relive when memories fade.

Remember this

I am passionate about creating art from your most treasured memories. My work represents how I see newborn babies. They are soft, sweet and unique. Even at a few days old they are their own perfect little person and my art captures this for you. My sessions feel organic and are filled with light and texture.

This wonderful opportunity simply will not be repeated. Your little one is only this little for a fleeting moment and I want to preserve that moment for you to cherish forever; in a piece of art that makes you pause every time you pass it and makes you smile every time you think of it.

The time before time began

A Maternity Mini Session is a perfect oportunity to record, capture and ultimately treasure "the time before time began”. This moment (long though it may feel), is so very fleating and in no time at all your new little person will be here. Take this time to reflect on the special bond that you have together before you share your new baby with the rest of the world.

Diana Moschitz

British Photographer, Diana is the founder of Family As Art. With four small children herself she has extensive experience with children and babies and it was through watching her own children and capturing them on camera that her love of photography began.

Diana's philosophy towards photographing children is what brings magic to her portraits:  "I don't want to make children smile, I want to give them a reason to".

Her natural, maternal approach to newborn sessions and her readiness to engage with the big kids ("often it's just a good fart noise that's needed to build the rapport") quickly builds the trust of parents and children alike. Ensuring that a good time is had by all.

My Inspiration

I began my photographic journey in 2008 when my eldest child was born; Before long I was enthralled by creating images and desperately wanted to learn how to make them look like they did in my mind. It wasn't enough to just capture the moment, I wanted to find a way to capture the feeling of the moment, the emotions and the mood. So I started to trawl through the internet for beginner tutorials on how to use you DSLR. When I switched over from Auto to Manual the fun really began. I began to learn how to isolate important details using low apertures, how to make a dreamy, soft images by using backlighting and exposing for my subjects' face and to use composition to produce a powerful scene.

my studio

I created my studio as much for me as for my clients. I knew that I wanted a cosy haven where I could relax and feel inspired and where families (my own included) could feel safe. I adore living in a light and bright environment and wanted the same for my place of work. I love the feeling I get when I walk in in the morning and the sun streams in through the windows, touching on all the little details that have been prepared for the day's shoot.
